Saltillo Cathedral Tower

This schematic recreates the bell tower of the Saltillo Cathedral, a tall stone structure modeled on the real landmark in Mexico. It rises from a solid square base built of pale sandy blocks, with small arched openings set into the lower walls, then opens up through two stacked tiers of slender columns that form airy, open sided galleries around the upper levels. Each tier is ringed with narrow pillars supporting rounded arches, and the stonework carries the warm cream tone of the original across the whole height of the build.

Above the columned levels, the tower is crowned with a stepped pyramid roof clad in dark brown blocks that taper toward a fine point, topped with a small cross at the very peak. The layered roof gives the tower a strong vertical finish that draws the eye upward from the plain base through the open galleries to the tip. Beside it sits a small landscaped area with garden plots and a modest structure, offering a sense of scale next to the towering height of the spire. Faithful to its source, the build makes a commanding centerpiece for a town square or a larger cathedral complex.
