Vanilla Shields Mod

Vanilla Shields is an add-on for Minecraft Bedrock that expands the game's defensive options with five new craftable shields. Each one uses a different material tier and has its own stats, making the choice of shield a meaningful decision rather than a cosmetic one. The add-on is designed to sit alongside the default Minecraft shield without replacing it.

The Shields and Their Stats

Each shield is balanced around its material tier, with trade-offs between durability, speed and damage blocking:

• Netherite Shield: 812 durability, extra knockback on attackers, fire resistant


• Diamond Shield: 632 durability, extra knockback on attackers


• Copper Shield: 230 durability, blocks 95% of incoming damage


• Wooden Shield: 122 durability, blocks 80% of damage, faster to raise than copper


• Golden Shield: 92 durability, near-instant use speed

Crafting

All shields are crafted at a standard crafting table using planks, a log block and the material that defines the shield tier placed in the top center slot. The copper shield uses a copper ingot, the gold shield uses a gold ingot and the diamond shield uses a diamond. Any type of planks or logs works in the recipe, so you're not locked into a specific wood type. The wooden shield is the only exception, using a log block instead of a material ingot in the center slot.

Vanilla Shields fits naturally into survival progression, giving players a reason to upgrade their defense as they advance through material tiers, the same way weapons and armor already work in the base game.
